POSITION

Lead Committee Member

PURPOSE

To work directly with the development team to ensure general members have resources needed to implement committee plans. To assist in delegating tasks, troubleshoot problems, and answer questions. To support the activities of the Fundraising Committee and represent the organization to individuals, businesses, and other organizations that may be able to contribute funds. 

LOCATION

All meetings will be held virtually via Google Meet until further notice. Event attendance will be expected (events are currently being scheduled as virtual or curbside). 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicates with Development Team when questions or issues arise about Fundraising Committee tasks

  • Checks on progress of assigned tasks 

  • Attend monthly meetings and actively participate

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to support the purpose of the Fundraising Committee

  • Solicit and/or raise funds for the organization

  • Engage in fundraising activities, as needed.

Development Team

LENGTH OF APPOINTMENT

1 year

TIME COMMITMENT

  • 2.5 hours monthly for committee meetings

  • 7.5 hours for activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership experience

  • Enthusiasm and passion for the mission and vision of SFTS

  • Able to dedicate time to committee meetings and fundraising projects and activities

  • Willingness to learn about SFTS and fundraising principles

  • Must have ability to use Google Meet for virtual meets and Google drive for document access. 

  • Good communication skills, flexibility, and a sense of humor

  • Basic computer & internet skills

SUPPORT

Orientation provided by Development Team

Continued communication with the Development Team

ORIENTATION

A virtual group orientation will be scheduled within 2 weeks after the meet and greet. Prior to attending, each member agrees to: 

  • Read SFTS's bylaws and mission statement. 

  • Visit the organization's website to more closely familiarize themselves with SFTS

ACTIVE PARTICIPATION

  • Attend at least 80% of regularly scheduled meetings

  • Provide feedback and contribute ideas

  • Take on tasks from the fundraising plan 

  • Raise funds to support SFTS's mission 

  • Attend & participate in signature events

    • SPAYghetti Dinner (in May)​

    • Bark, Scoot, & Boogie (in the fall)
